1.1 Diagnostic Assessments
- A Visual Difficulties Questionnaire must be completed before scheduling an assessment. This is available upon request. A recent eye examination (within two years) is also required before booking an assessment. Please ensure these steps has been completed before scheduling.
- Any prescribed glasses or contact lenses must be worn during the assessment. If a coloured overlay is used, it must be brought to the assessment.
- For child assessments where the child is below 12 years, the parent should be present during the assessment. For child assessments where the child is 12 years or older, the child/young person will decide whether the parent should be present during the assessment.
- A diagnostic assessment includes a full battery of psychometric tests, with a full diagnostic report provided within ten working days of the final assessment date.
- If there is insufficient evidence of dyslexia, a full diagnostic report will still be provided, outlining strengths, challenges, and recommendations. Further assessments by specialists may be recommended, which could incur additional costs.
1.2. Cancellation of Assessment
- If an individual is unwell, the assessment will need to be rescheduled. The new date will depend on availability and may result in a longer wait.
- In exceptional circumstances, the assessor may need to reschedule with no prior notice. No fees will be incurred, and a new date will be agreed upon.
- If a mutually convenient date cannot be arranged, a full refund will be issued.
- Cancellations made more than seven days before the assessment will result in a refund of half the deposit, and the remaining 50% fee will not be collected.

- Lessons are typically scheduled once per week, in termly blocks.
- Specialist teaching takes place at the Flourish Tutoring office.

- Lessons are tailored based on a student’s needs assessment and follow a research-backed structure. They are multi-sensory and highly targeted, differing from traditional school approaches.
- Schools, workplaces, or parents may not dictate lesson content. Lessons may work at a level significantly below age-related expectations and will target specific gaps and difficulties.
- Students must not attend lessons if they are unwell. Please contact jen@flourish-tutoring.co.uk for guidance if unsure.
